Katápola - Wheat Fields (Album CD)

Katápola is the side project of Françoise Sutra and Joel Calatayud aka Don Joe, a notorious activist on the French underground rock scene (Indian Ghost, Don Joe Rodeo Combo, Jesus of Cool). Initially a playful, recreational gestation during the 2020/2021 confinement period, the project gradually evolved into a serious album idea. We'll spare you the cliché of the duo in town and on stage. While their sixties psyche-pop influences are obvious, a dose of 80’s Paisley Sound (Bangles, Dream Syndicate), a pinch of 90’s indie rock and the patronage of the Velvet Underground (Loaded period) consolidate Katápola's music. Wheat Fields is their debut album, officially released on May 10, 2024.
